Add your music.

Your files stay exactly where they are. Mixo Player reads metadata and artwork to build a searchable library.

1. Open Settings.

   Choose Mixo Player → Settings… or press ⌘,.

2. Choose a folder.

   In Library Sync, click Add Folder. Select a music folder on your Mac or external drive.

3. Sync the library.

   Click Sync Now to scan files and read artwork and metadata.

Your Library

• Artists shows an artist list with matching songs beside it.
• Artists, Songs & Albums presents a sortable table grouped by Album Artist and Album.
• Album Gallery presents artwork cards you can select to play.
• Album summary rows show the year, track count, and total playback time while tracks remain in disc and track order.
• Right-click table headers to choose which columns are visible, or use row actions to favorite tracks, add them to playlists, edit tags, and remove them from the library.
• The sidebar shows Artists, Albums, and Songs totals.

Search & Filters

• Search by Title, Album Artist, Album, Year, or Genre.
• Use filter bars to narrow the current view.
• Album filters match Album Artist + Album, while Artist Focus keeps an artist’s full album discography together.
• Sort by album order or year where available.
• Use Back and Forward to revisit recent library navigation.

Playback

• Play, pause, skip, shuffle, and repeat from the player bar.
• Drag the progress slider to seek through a track.
• Reveal the volume slider with the speaker button.
• Choose speakers, headphones, DACs, or AirPlay output.
• Use Artist Focus to filter to the current song’s Album Artist.
• Use ReplayGain, the 10-band Equalizer, the Mini Player, media keys, and Now Playing metadata for a more focused listening session.

Favorites

• Use the heart button in a table row or the player bar.
• Open Favorites in the sidebar to see only favorite tracks.
• Sort favorites and use the same track actions as the main library.
• The summary row shows the total number of favorite songs.
• Import or export Favorites as an extended M3U/M3U8 playlist, and open the tag editor from track actions.

Playlists

• Click the plus button beside Playlists to create one.
• Select tracks and use the playlist action or context menu to add them.
• Control-click a playlist to rename or delete it.
• Use the playlist summary row to see its song count and customize its appearance where available.
• Next and Previous follow the playlist’s saved order.
• Import or export an extended M3U/M3U8 playlist from the playlist context menu. Imported entries are matched to tracks already in your library.

Albums

• Album Gallery uses artwork embedded in your audio files, with albums identified by Album Artist + Album.
• Select an album card to open its songs and play in album order.
• Hover an album cover to see its Album Artist, track count, and total playback time.
• The right sidebar keeps the current artist’s albums available, and the album associated with playback is visually marked.

Settings

• General shows database information and reset controls.
• Appearance uses a clean, focused light interface.
• Library Sync manages imported parent folders and manual syncing, including added and removed files.
• Lyrics downloads lyrics for the library with progress and cancellation support.
• ReplayGain supports Track or Album mode with an optional preamp.
• About shows the app icon, version, and build information.
• Resetting the database removes imported tracks and playlists from Mixo Player, but never deletes your original audio files.

Advanced Tools

• Lyrics: Load synced or plain lyrics from LRCLIB, cache them for offline reopening, and download lyrics for the entire library.
• Equalizer: Shape playback with 10 bands, built-in presets, and custom presets.
• Tag Editor: Update title, artist, Album Artist, album, genre, year, track, disc, and artwork. Search MusicBrainz and Cover Art Archive for artwork.
• Mini Player: Keep album artwork and playback controls visible in a compact window, favorite the current song, or switch to the current album’s track list.
